Fourmile Canyon was named for its location four miles downriver from Dandy Crossing (Hite). Mount Ellsworth, about eight miles to the west is highly visible above the canyonΓÇÖs mouth. A trail of sorts leads up Fourmile Canyon through sand, mud, and assorted vegetation depending on lake levels. A number of shale beaches are available for campsites depending on lake levels.
